Hey! So Glad You're Here.

My name is Jake Bajema and I have the pleasure to serve as the Area Director for the Kentwood community. For the past couple of years I have been on staff with Young Life in the Grand Rapids SouthWest Area leading at Davenport University, Grandville Middle School, and South Christian High School.  I grew up in the West Michigan area attending Grandville High School and completed my undergraduate studies at Hope College (Communications and English).  Post-graduation I headed south to Nashville where I received my Masters of Sport Administration from Belmont University.  After graduation I worked for the Nashville Predators NHL team in ticket sales.  As my family was changing back home due to adoption and my sister getting married, I took a leap of faith and decided it was time to move back home.  After a 5 year stint with MVP Sports Clubs, and options to continue in the world of business, I decided to pursue a call to ministry with Young Life.  Young Life had been a big part of my story before coming on staff.  I was a volunteer leader at Grandville for 4 years
where I met my wife!  So I guess you could say I am a cliché because I did meet my wife at Young Life.  Our lives are full with both of us working and in school, my wife volunteering as a Young Life leader, all while raising our daughter Selah the best we can.  We wouldn’t have it any other way!  Our family is so excited to immerse ourselves in the Kentwood community and we look forward to meeting those that we haven’t met yet in the near future.
